About Dr. Stephen Brown (lower left)

Dr. Stephen L. Brown has been practicing dentistry since 1984, and has been serving Lake City since 1985. He is a native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He received his B.A. from Bethel College in St. Paul, Minnesota and graduated from the University of Iowa Dental College.

In addition to being active in continuing education programs, he is a member of the American Dental Association, Minnesota Dental Association, Zumbro Valley Dental Association, and the Christian Medical & Dental Association.

Dr. Brown's wife, Teri, does payroll and bookkeeping at the office, and together they have three children. Dr. Brown goes on yearly mission trips to Kenya to provide people there with much needed dental care. His hobbies include tennis, fishing, boating, and radio-control aircraft.



About Dr. Marie Mueske (lower right)

Dr. Marie Mueske was born and raised on a farm just outside of Lake City, MN near Millville.  During high school she met and began dating her husband, John.  In 1993, she graduated from Lincoln High School and moved to Brooklyn Park, MN to study dental assisting. 

After receiving her degree in dental assisting, she began her working career in Wabasha, MN. For nearly five years she worked full time and found great interest in dentistry.  However, she felt a strong urge to move forward in the field. In 1997, she and John married and made the decision for her to start an undergraduate studies program in preparation for dental school.  Throughout the four years of college at Winona State University, she kept her dental skills sharp by continuing to work part time as a dental assistant in various Winona dental offices.

In 2002, Dr. Mueske graduated from Winona State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Molecular Biology and Allied Health.  Soon after John and Marie moved to Milwaukee, WI where John continued his career in engineering and Marie began dental school.  While in dental school, Marie was thrilled to earn two awards.  The "Tom Lauer" award is given to one sophomore student who appears to have the best personality needed to be successful as a dentist.  As a senior, she earned a second award in which her professors believed she was most likely to succeed in general dentistry.  In 2007, she graduated from Marquette University and gave birth to their beautiful son, Leighton.  In the summer of 2007, their new family was very anxious to return home and begin their new new lives.

Marie began practicing dentistry at Pepin Valley Dental in September 2007.  She is enjoying her new career and patients every day!  Marie is a member of the ADA (American Dental Association), MDA (Minnesota Dental Association), and AGD (Academy of General Dentistry).  She also stays current by fulfilling her yearly requirements for continuing education.

Today, Dr. Mueske and her family live just outside of Lake City and are thrilled to be back in the area.  In her free time, she enjoys activities with her husband and son Leighton.  The other family members include two dogs and four chickens, proving there is always something to catch in time with a photograph!
